Operating the GPS

Our trackers get their geolocation from the GPS satellites in the sky.

The GPS allows the tracker to auto-locate on a map (and allows the GPRS network to send this location to our servers).

The geolocation operates no matter how far from the tracker you are. If you are located in Paris and the tracker is in New York, you will get the same quality of service.

The GPS signal is better with a clear sky. High altitude obstacles can block the line of sight between the device and the satellite, which can generate errors in the geolocation.

This is why the GPS is solely fit for an outside use. The indoor GPS signal is significantly lower, which makes it very difficult to get an accurate geolocation.
